Biohuerto

Privacy policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026.

Your privacy matters to us. Here we tell you, with no small print, what data we use when you use Biohuerto and its shop, why, and what you can do about it.

1. Who we are

Biohuerto is run by whoever appears in the legal notice. If you have any question about your data, write to us and we'll be happy to help:

  • Email: namenal@gmail.com
Legal notice

2. What data we use

  • Your notebook: your plants, locations, photos and the place of your garden stay on your device, inside the browser. They never reach us, and you can delete them whenever you like from Settings.
  • Your Google account: signing in with Google is optional. If you do, Google gives us your name, your email address and your profile photo, only to show who is signed in. They stay in the session cookie, never in a database.
  • Your copy in Google Drive: if you turn it on in Settings, we save a copy of your notebook in your Google Drive. We only use its own hidden folder (drive.appdata): we don't see or touch anything else in your Drive.
  • Your purchases: when you buy in the shop, we'll need your name, email address, phone number, delivery address and what you ordered, so your order reaches you. Your card or payment details are handled by the payment provider: they never pass through us.

The copy travels straight from your browser to Google Drive, without passing through our servers. The permission to use Drive lasts one hour, lives only in the browser's memory and is never stored.

Whenever you like, you can delete the copy and remove Biohuerto's access from your Google account settings (Data and privacy, Third-party apps and services).

Biohuerto's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. What we use it for

To make the app work the way you expect: saving your notebook, signing you in and making the Drive copy. We do it because it's needed to give you the service you ask for.

To prepare and ship your orders, because it's needed to complete your purchase. And to keep our accounts and pay our taxes, because the law requires it, as it does for any shop.

To keep the website safe and stop anyone from misusing it. Here the reason is our legitimate interest in protecting it, which is yours too.

And nothing else: we don't use your data for advertising, we don't build profiles and we never sell it.

4. Who else sees it

Only those who help us keep everything running:

  • Our technology providers: Google Cloud and Firebase, where the website, sign-in and shop live.
  • The payment provider: [Payment provider], which takes care of charging you securely.
  • The delivery company: [Carrier], which receives your name, address and phone number only to bring you your order.
  • The app's services: to search for places and show you the weather, your browser sends Open-Meteo what you search for or the coordinates of your garden. To search for photos of a plant, it sends its name to iNaturalist and Wikimedia Commons. Nothing else.

Some of these providers may store data outside Europe. When that happens, it's in countries the European Commission considers safe or under the standard contracts it approves, so your data is as protected as it is here. If you'd like to know more, just ask us.

We don't share your data with anyone else, unless the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

Your notebook stays on your device until you decide to delete it.

Your Google account details, while your session is open and for 14 days at most.

Your purchase details, for as long as we're required to keep them for accounting and tax: usually [6 years].

6. Your data is yours

Whenever you like, you can ask us to see your data, correct it, delete it, take it with you or stop using it. Just write to us:

And if you think we haven't done it right, you can tell the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es). Although we'd love the chance to fix it first.

  • Email: namenal@gmail.com

7. Cookies

The little we store in your browser is explained in the cookie policy.
